Good morning! This week is off to a great start because it’s a four day week for me :D. On Friday I’m flying to the great state of Texas for my sister’s bachelorette weekend! On top of that, the following week is a short week and my last week of work!
Luke and I spent this past weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine.
It was wonderful! The weather was absolutely perfect and, as usual, Teddy had a blast!
There are not too many things that make me happier than watching Teddy play on the beach! I think it’s his own personal dog heaven :).
When we weren’t at the beach, our weekend was filled with reading, good wine and good food! On Saturday night, we went to one of our favorite restaurants (if not our favorite) in Kennebunkport, Bandaloop. As usual, it didn’t disappoint!
To start, we shared the “Fresh Chiffonade of Kale”. We order this salad often, and it even inspired me to recreate my own Raw Kale Ribbon Salad.
For an entree, I had the swordfish special, which included a delicious blueberry barbecue sauce made from fresh Maine blueberries. It was delicious!
Luke had the tuna ceviche, which was good except that most of it was covered in wasabi aoli. I absolutely hate wasabi. I think it tastes like rubbing alcohol. It happens to be really strong, so if something is even slightly touching it, you’ll taste it! I was only able to find a couple wasabi free bites, but what I had was quite tasty!
For dessert, we walked to one of the new ice cream shops in town that serves “artisan” ice cream. We shared a cup with two flavors – star anise blood orange and dark chocolate. Double yum.
Our nights ended with wine while we watched the sunset from the porch. The crescent moon this weekend was so pretty!
Every time we leave Kennebunk, my heart breaks just a little. It’s one of those places that is so beautiful and perfect that you never want to leave.
But alas, all good weekends must come to an end!
